东部大学's Office of Multi文化 Student Initiatives seeks to affirm 东部大学's mission to "seek opportunities to go beyond racial, 文化, and religious boundaries to share in the beauty that is found in diverse people from around the world" and "to accept the challenge to live in harmony and unity in a campus environment that reflects the multi-ethnic, 多种族, multi文化 nature of the world."

Our office serves as a resource and bridge for student development, eng年龄ment, and success. Multi文化 competency is vital to institutional goals for success as Eastern is committed to maintaining a student-centered inclusive community. 东部大学 is a place where students can learn about the gift of diversity created by God.

  • improve the overall quality of life for all students, particularly students of color on campus, by developing and implementing educational, 文化 and social 项目 that will assist 东部大学 in retaining and graduating multi文化 and international students.
  • create leadership opportunities that foster and enrich campus diversity with a goal of promoting 文化 understanding and positive relationships that support students' success.
  • assist with cultivating a climate within 东部大学 where everyone values and respects the humanity in each person regardless of individual differences.
  • collaborate with University departments to provide 项目 related to academic, 个人, professional and 文化 development to foster skills and strategies for being successful at 东部大学.
  • 促进, coordinate and administer multi文化 education opportunities and 项目 that educate the campus community regarding various traditions, 海关, 和信仰.
  • assist in promoting an accepting and inclusive climate for all students.
  • assist in fostering an appreciation for each of our unique human differences.
  • addresses issues relating to racial/ethnic, 年龄, 性/性别, 身体残疾的, 社会经济地位, 政治观点, 宗教/精神, and/or philosophical beliefs.
